The upper limit of IMO's "sulfur limitation order" comes into effect on January 1, 2020. The global sulfur oxide emissions are strictly controlled within 0.1% of the ship emission control area (ECA) and within 0.5% outside the control area. Therefore, it is necessary to install washing tower or use low sulfur fuel for ships in navigation and new construction. In response to the new sulfur emission specifications, the successful ships in this trial voyage are equipped with desulfurization tower.
Through this trial, the 82000 ton bulk carrier newly built by Jinglu shipping industry fully complies with the new sulfur emission regulations.
